Biography
Ervin Hoxha was born in Tirana on October 13, 1978. Since July 2024, he serves as Minister of Internal Affairs. For over 20 years, Mr. Hoxha has held various state positions from executive level to high leadership levels in central law enforcement institutions such as: Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, State Police, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Justice. Since November 2023, Mr. Hoxha held the position of Chief Inspector of the National Inspectorate for Territorial Defence.
Previously, Ervin Hoxha served as Director of International Relations in the State Police: Head of the Europol National Unit; Head of the Interpol National Central Bureau: Director of Traffic Police; Director of the Directorate for the Protection of Witnesses and Justice Collaborators; Director of Tax Investigation and Money Laundering; Deputy General Director of the Social Insurance Institute; General Director of the Probation Service, as well as Cabinet Director and advisor to several high state officials.
Mr. Hoxha has also specialized in the field of security and law enforcement in the USA, Austria, Germany, and other European countries. He completed his secondary education in Balikesir, Turkey. He then continued his education at the Security Academy in Dresden, Germany. In 2006, he completed his higher education at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Tirana. He completed his postgraduate education at the German Police University in Münster, earning the title MA in Public Administration.
