The new Minister of Health of North Macedonia, Arben Taravari, also held this position from June to September 2017.From 2016 to 2017, he was head of the department for migraines, headaches, and other disease syndromes at the University Clinic for Neurology. From 2017 to 2021, he was the mayor of the Municipality of Gostivar, after which he won a second term. Taravari has been the acting president of the Alliance for Albanians since 2022. Since the same year, he has also worked as a professor of neurology. He specialized in neurology in 2006 at the University Clinic for Neurology. He obtained his doctorate from the Faculty of Medicine at the "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" University in 2011. He completed his second specialization in family medicine, also at the Faculty of Medicine in 2011.
